Your Questions, Answered

  • No experience needed at all. Our Foundations classes are designed specifically for people who have never trained Muay Thai before. You'll start with the basics — stance, guard, footwork, and strikes — in a structured environment with no pressure. Everyone at SitJaiYai started exactly where you are.

  • No. This is one of the most common reasons people put off joining, and it's not a reason to wait. The classes will get you fit. Turn up as you are and the fitness will follow.

  • Absolutely. SitJaiYai welcomes men and women at all levels. Muay Thai is one of the most effective martial arts for building confidence, fitness, and self-defence skills regardless of gender.

  • That depends entirely on how often you train and how you apply yourself. Members who train consistently two to three times a week typically see noticeable improvement within a few weeks. Progress is tracked through your technique and ability, not through belts or grades.

  • JaiYai Juniors is open to children aged 7 to 11. Classes run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at SitJaiYai, Shrub Hill Industrial Estate, Worcester.

  • Yes. All SitJaiYai coaches are DBS checked and safeguarding trained, and there is first aid cover on site at every session. Kids classes are structured, coach-led, and fully age-appropriate — no full contact, no sparring.

  • That's exactly who JaiYai Juniors is designed for. No experience is needed and classes are built around learning at the right pace for each child. The first week is free, so your child can try it before you commit to anything.

  • Children learn the fundamentals of Muay Thai — coordination, technique, balance, and discipline — alongside confidence, focus, and respect. Skills that go well beyond the gym.

  • We offer three membership options to suit different schedules and budgets. Pay As You Go is £15 per class with no commitment. The Foundation Pack gives you 4 classes per month for £40. Unlimited membership is £80 per month and gives you access to every class on the timetable. Direct debits are set up through GoTeamUp, our booking platform.

  • No joining fee and no long-term contract. You can start on Pay As You Go and switch to a membership whenever you're ready.

  • Yes — for adult classes you can pay as you go from your very first session at £15. For kids classes the first week is completely free.

  • All bookings and payments are handled through GoTeamUp. Create a free account in a few clicks, choose your membership, and you can book classes and set up your direct debit all in one place.

  • Get in touch before you come and we can advise on what you'll need as you start training regularly. When you're ready to invest in your own kit, we can point you in the right direction.

  • Hand wraps are recommended for regular training to protect your wrists and knuckles. Again, not a requirement for your first session — just come ready to train.

  • SitJaiYai is based at Shrub Hill Industrial Estate, 9 Shrub Hill, Worcester WR4 9EL. We are based inside F3S Gym. We're a short distance from Worcester Shrub Hill train station and there is free parking available on site.

  • You can reach us by phone on 07730 681283, by email at sitjaiyai@gmail.com, or through the contact form on this website. We'll get back to you as soon as possible.

  • Class times are listed on our timetable page. If you have a question outside of class hours, drop us a message and we'll come back to you.

  • Not until you're ready. Sparring is introduced gradually in Foundations classes as light contact and always at a controlled pace. Nobody is thrown in the deep end at SitJaiYai. You progress at your own speed.

  • Like any contact sport, there is an element of risk — but at SitJaiYai safety is taken seriously. All sparring is controlled and coach-supervised. Beginners are never matched with advanced fighters until they're ready, and all contact in early training is light and technical rather than competitive.

  • Not at all. The majority of SitJaiYai members train for fitness, self-improvement, and the love of the sport with no intention of competing. If competing is something you want to work towards, we'll support that too — but it's never an expectation.
